Do you notice how much cubase reduces the automation data you write even when you have set it to reduce to 0%.
Don’t you feel it’s a bit non sense? it’s like quantizing to a bar a sixteen note phrase. Cubase likes it square!

If you are handwriting the data, turn the snap off.
You have to set the automation sensibility/resolution to get more written points.
