I just updated to Cubase 15. What the hell is going on with the wiggly fade lines?
Confirmed. I haven’t updated yet. I see this in C15.0.10 so its not new to 15.0.20
For me, its only a visual thing; I can hear the fade applied working fine (as much as I can make out, with what I’ve applied). It’s just the actual fade line itself.
Clean project, started in 15.0.6
There’s no pattern to it - some crossfades are all good; other fade in/out lines are corrupted. Didn’t want the hassle of going back to C14. I have deadlines.
And then you press on…
I’ll get round to resetting preferences at some point, see what that does.
I have this too since updating to 15, but only on fade-outs, never on fade-ins. Go figure…
Best,
Magnus
Also, when I hover over audio events, they vibrate!
This is unacceptable for me. I can’t use it like this. I’m going back to 14. I knew I shouldn’t have bothered updating. All it ever gives me is a load of new glitches stacked on top of all the other previously unfixed ones.
Are you on a Mac?
Windows 11
So far everybody’s been on Windows. And only the audio events vibrated, not the entire project window content?
Just the audio events vibrating when I hover the mouse over them.
This is something I never heard before. Do you recall whether you have scaled Cubase (setting in the preferences)?
Nope just normal. I’ve tried fiddling with the preferences but nothing makes any difference. I’ll try installing it on my home machine and see if it does it there. But at my studio it’s definitely not worth the hassle. Back to 14 I go!
Agreed… further examination, shows only on fade-outs as well here… could’ve sworn I’ve seen it on fade-ins too though, in other projects…
As I say, not affecting the sound, so am ignoring as far as I can live with it…
@jagasson - could you edit your topic title to include ‘Broken behaviour’ and also add the ‘Issue’ tag please.?
FWIW I don’t have any audio events ‘vibrating’ when mouse hover, as you see… But I am still on 15.0.10. Maybe that’s a separate issue with 15.0.20.?
Confirmed here as well (Win11 AND W10). Broken fade display behavior ![]()
The plot thickens… there is a point at which the distortion ‘corrects’ itself.

(Refresh page if the animation stops. The ‘play’ button seems to be inactive…)
Retitled and tagged ![]()
Thanks @jagasson
Lets say that this is not something ‘universal’, for everyone - there’d be more posts otherwise.
So I loaded a different project (started in C14) and so far haven’t seen the issue in that one. Then I tried another, this time started in C15, and that did show it - but not across all the tracks, like it was something endemic in that project. Here it was seen on drum tracks and on some VariAudio’d vox - not all.
Again, my clean project started in C15.0.10 mentioned in my post above, where I imported audio files, done some editing etc., and there is the result in my screenshot. In that project, bass and guitar tracks don’t have a problem…
As soon as I see it in a project that I can (cut down and) share, I will post again.
Can anyone confirm that this is fixed in 15.0.21?
This has not been fixed in 0.21, at least not on Win 11.
Best,
Magnus
Course it hasn’t. I expect it’ll get added to the drag zoom lag as one of many GUI bugs that never get addressed: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BZGuhG1HM-c
