Will Direct Offline Processing stop completely if I restart Cubase? (or just pause)

Hi!

I noticed that if I close the DOP window, the clips continue to be processed in the background. Very nice! Now what would happen if I closed Cubase while the progress is at 68% 26/38? Not hypothetically. I really need to know this!

The reason I’m asking is because I’m running out of storage space and I waited about 15 hours for it to reach 68%. Deleting stuff to make room is not an option for me. Also, since I can’t pause DOP, moving files from my storage device to an external device to make room is very slow. Please help!

P.S. The Cubase 14 manual says that if I process something with DOP, the original file remains unaffected (page 560). What if I want to directly process the original file? (without having a backup)

I ran out of patience and decided to save the project, which resulted in this window appearing:

I would’ve liked to click “Abort”, but I couldn’t.
I then forced Cubase to quit. The CPR file wasn’t saved. It’s a good thing though that the created wave files in the Edits folder remained. Pfew!
