I asked someone that works at Microsoft about the implications of Game Mode and DAWs. He said that they have asked some of the DAW companies to try it out to see what the results are. The mode puts OS tasks to a separate core and boosts thread priority of the core application. There are other GPU optimizations, but they would not benefit DAW software.
