windows 10 update 2004 audio?

I see the 2004 update has caused some people problems, but I haven’t found my issue. (I’m guessing this has something to do with the update.)
(I thought I was having problems with Dorico too, but it turns out it’s with NotePerformer.)

I got a new laptop recently: Asus VivoBook 17 - AMD Ryzen 7, 20GB RAM

When I play a project in Cubase (10.5.2 Pro) the sound crackles. If I export it, the wav file sounds normal.

At one point, when working with the Dorico staff, they thought it might be a problem with the integrated sound card that comes with laptops.
If that’s the case here, would getting an external sound card help?

Thanks.

Hi,

Try to increase your Audio Device Buffer Size, please.

That actually makes it worse. I tried 20, 50 and 100 ms

Hi,

What type of driver do you use, please?

You could also use LatencyMon utility to test your system.

I see two:
AMD High Definition Audio Device
and
Realtek (R) Audio

Focusrite Scarlett 2i2 (2nd or 3rd) gen will fix your issue. use it’s ASIO drivers.

That Works!
I have a UR22mkII but didn’t have it plugged in (I just wanted to do some editing - I wasn’t recording)
Playing through that works great. Thanks.
