Hello. I have been using a Steinberg UR16c on my Windows 10 desktop PC for 3 years without problems. I just bought a new Windows 11 machine and tried to install the Windows 11 driver and while validating the install it gave a message that said "Throw - RegOpenKeyEx() in resultIsWin10(), and the install fails.
I found that my old Windows 10 driver was on the system, but when I went to uninstall it, I got the same error message and am unable to uninstall it. I deleted it via Device Manager, rebooted but it’s still there.
I then used a deep uninstaller program and deleted every reference to the Yamaha USB driver and UR16 from the registry, and now the message that comes up says that the old driver cannot be uninstalled, and to contact tech support, which I did a couple of days ago. I just got a reply that they are backlogged.
My new system is a Dell Alienware R16. Does anyone know a workable way to fully uninstall Windows 10 Yamaha USB drivers?
Thanks, Tony
