Forgive me if I didn’t find it but I couldn’t see a wish list for N15.
2 things come to mind for this list:
- Cue sends. 4 works but for me 8 would solve a few issues.
- Ripple edit as an option for click and drag as an example.
Thanks
Forgive me if I didn’t find it but I couldn’t see a wish list for N15.
2 things come to mind for this list:
ALT + SHIFT for duly selected mixed track types, when a solo or mute button is pressed.
Folders in the mixer.
Negative Track Delay for each expression map articulation
OSC implementation for any key command, macro, ple as well on selecting track. I would prefer this over using midi remote implementations and the ability to set the message. My touch screen would be so much easier to implement. Verses the current hoops and work arounds.
Midi Sends on Instrument track
More Blackmagic video output information.
Better Eucon support
Summing and VCA style folder options
Yes, Folders in the Mixer is the most important in the list, in my opinion.
Inserts’ view, right at the track, just like Protools.
The ability to set a tiny fade-in every time I start and stop the transport. Pro Tools has it for start, and Reaper has it for start and stop. No more pops every time you hit play.
I don’t mean auto-cross fades when editing, or the (very cool) auto zero crossing setting. I mean a quick fade in of all audio upon starting play.
Sandboxing plugins/VSTs a la Bitwig. Quicker project loading and no more plugins crashing the DAW! I see this as essential as a new feature for modern DAWs now that Bitwig has innovated this — its just too amazing.
Absolutely, Bitwigs handling of VST is such an obvious move, and the concept of a plugin crashing and yet… not crashing the host! This is a big leap forward. As the creators of the VST format surely Steinberg can do this aswell and perhaps even better, but not holding my breath.
BitWig have likely made a wrapper, which if implemented by the spec owners, i.e., Steinberg; it would need to be created from scratch.
No doubt it would take a lot of commitment and big work by the Steinberg team, but all the same…would be great to see in the future if done robustly.
Is this what you are looking for?
Auto Fades and Crossfades
Nuendo features an Auto Fade function that can be set either globally or separately for each
audio track. Auto fades allow you to create smoother transitions between events by applying
fade ins and fade outs with a length between 1 and 500 ms.
IMPORTANT
As event-based fades are calculated in real time during playback, applying auto fades to a higher
number of audio events results in a higher demand on the processor.
NOTE
Auto fades are not indicated by fade lines.
Auto Fades Dialog
The Auto Fades dialog allows you to set up auto fades and crossfades, either for the entire
project or individually, for each audio track.
● To open the global Auto Fades dialog, select Project > Auto Fades Settings.
● To open the Auto Fades dialog for a track, right-click in the track list and select Auto Fades
Settings.
Fredo
No, that would affect only the beginning and end of events, and transitions between events. What Pro Tools can do is fade in (like 0.05ms) when you press start on the transport, even when the start position is in the middles of events, and even if the audio waveform happens not to be at a zero crossing (which would otherwise create a pop the moment you press play.)
The entire audio (playback engine I suppose?) fades in based on a global setting. Pro Tools has this setting in the transport area along with pre-roll and post-roll settings. In Pro Tools I set it for a short fade-in whenever I start playback. And Reaper has this setting for starting and stopping play, which is even better.
Why, not be available as an option at least?
Reaper has this setting too.
