WMV file keeps hanging up in N4.3

I imported a WMV file into N4.3 without any problem. But when it plays back, the picture keeps hanging up. The audio keeps going just fine, but the video track turns black and the picture on the screen freezes. If I stop playback, the pictures return to the thumbnails and the video screen updates to where it should be on the timeline. I start playback again and within 35 seconds or so it freezes up again. Any suggestions on how I might correct this?

What video player are you using?

I tried both Direct X & Direct Show. I went back and rendered the video as both an AVI & QT file. But neither will import now. What’s going on?
