Won't copy/paste snare drum

Something got wonky with my Dorico. It won’t include the snare part when I copy/paste measures of drumset music. Everything else is there except for the snare drum. I even upgraded to the newest version and it does the same thing.

Can you share the file?

I think instead of having a separate instrument for cross-stick, you should use the one that is already there under snare drum, playing techniques. The strange thing is that Dorico crashes if I try to open the Playing Techniques.

I’ll try with a new file in a minute.

I don’t know what you did. You must have redefined the drum kit instrument somehow. Here’s a file with the default drum kit and the snare drum playing cross-stick. If you don’t like the x noteheads, you can change that in the kit editor. With the snare drum selected, click Edit Percussion Playing Techniques and change the notehead for the cross stick. You use alt/opt + up/down-arrows to change playing technique when you input notes, or alt/opt + shift + up/down-arrows to change existing notes.

Sorry, that was side stick, here with cross stick.

Here’s the second flow also. I guess the reason the snare drum didn’t copy is that it was a separate instrument, maybe not even a percussion instrument. I couldn’t figure out how it was set up.

Using the cross-stick technique, but with a normal notehead. Also changed the open hi-hat to the built-in ones. (alt/opt+shift+up/down-arrows to change)
