Workflow question OR suggestion

There may be a solution I’ve overlooked, if not then this is a suggestion.
Situation: I’ve received a track consisting of several sub-tracks that need different processing. I’ve inserted markers and split the file into clips for that – so far so good. BUT, I’d also like to use some common processing for all sub-tracks, both pre and post the clip-specific preocessing.

For the post, this is easy, just use the track inserts. However, I’ve not found a good solution for the pre part. I can always copy the relevant plugin settings to all clips, but that’s both very impractical and a mess if I want to change the settings.

A perfect solution would be to have some track insert slots “pre-clip”. Or is there another way? I don’t think superclip will help in situations like these?

post-processing, it is as simple as adding track effects (effect will be common to all clips on that track, and they happen after clip effects).

But there is no solution for pre-processing, other than using the batch processor to destructively apply some changes before inserting the files to the montage.

Noted (and as I thought). Then please consider this as a feature wish: 1-2 track inserts pre-clips. They can reside in the same place, perhaps divided by a thick line ala Cubase’s pre/post inserts?
