working on a projet with two pcs

hii after a long time I wanted to do this I finally got to it.

I want to be able to work with a KVM on a synced project (two pcs playing Cubase at the same time)… I want to press play on one pc and hear both pcs playing at the same time.
the goal is to use synths on one pc and arranging and mixing on the other

I have 2 pcs - one with Cubase 9.5 and lynx e44 sound card
and the other with lynx aes16 (and ill buy the simplest version of Cubase that can work with the main system)

the plan is to use the lynx e44 as master and send clock to the aes16 on the second pc

now the questions:

1: can I use Cubase 9.5 on one pc and Cubase 6 on the other or they have to be the same version?
and if they have to be the same version do they also have to be the same license? (one can be pro and the other le or something?)

2 does my sound cards support system link? (and I’m pretty confused about this VSL in general because everything I’m searching about it takes me to Vienna ensemble which I don’t want…)

tnx alot!

use system link if you have digital in/out in your audio cards…

i have aes ins and outs and bnc ins and outs on both cards…

can I use Cubase 9.5 on one pc and Cubase 6 on the other ?
can PRO and LE versions work like that together?

Linking up 2 or more computers gives you vast possibilities:

•Dedicate one computer to running VST instruments while recording audio tracks on another (not in Cubase LE).

this if from this article, Working with VST System Link

thanks! i guess i’ll have to buy the element version, this will support vsl right?

Looks like all versions except LE will work, but don’t quote me on that.
