Write On Play possible bug

When writing, if I’m in track selection follows event selection and video follows event selection is enabled, then occasionally when I mix on a track, then select a new clip on a new track and start mixing, it will sometimes also write on the last track I had selected as well erasing any written automation I may have there.

I need to make sure my level automation lane is open to catch this as it happens.

I’m wondering if my finger may have touched the fader while stopping, putting the track into write mode, and the write mode will not be cleared until I hit play. So next time I play, that track immediately goes into write, even though I’m not touching it.

To clear it I go to a clear space after the clip I’m working on and hit play. This goes into write and on stop goes back to read, so the next tike I bit play I’m in read.

This happens a fair bit.

So as I turns out this is just the way the mode seems to work. If your finger is on the fader for any amount of time after hitting stop, it will go into write mode on the next playback. I just need to be more on the ball with lifting finger before stopping.

This is a great mixing mode, but without careful management it can lead to a fair bit of pain.

It would be great if there was an option for the whole track to temporarily change colour when automation is writing so we don’t need to have lanes open or keep glancing to the left to see write status.
