Writing a 12/4 Using an Alternating 3/4 + 3/4 + 2/4 + 2/4 + 2/4

Hi!

I’m trying to compose a Soleá that alternates between 2 bars of 3/4 and 3 bars of 2/4.

I can see that there’s an option for writing alternating time signatures, but it only seems to accept four values and i need 5.

Any and all help appreciated : = )

Hi @Jan_HuS, even if in the panel you are limited to 4 entries for Alternating (or Aggregate or Interchangeable) TS, you can edit the TS Popover as desired (with 5 or more entries).

• In your case you could to write this into the TS popover (Alternating):
  3/4 + 3/4 + 2/4 + 2/4 + 2/4
  

  

• Or you can use an Aggregate TS (also editing the popover to have 5 values) (you will have one bar subdivided by dotted barlines):
  

  
  
  If you Combine compatible aggregates (in the Properties panel) you will have the 12/4:

• Or you can use an Additive TS (you will have one 12/4 bar, with the property override):
