Wrong Note Lengths Detected in Expression Map

I’m having an issue in my score where if I put a vibrato playing technique in my score, a note that should be classified as very long is triggering a condition in my expression map with the condition “Vibrato, Note Length >= Short AND Note Length < Long”. When I remove the vibrato playing technique, it correctly triggers my “Natural, Note Length >= Long” condition. I’m sure something is messed up with my expression map conditions, but this is puzzling to me and I was wondering if someone could take a look at it. The issue I’m facing is for the last note in the attached project, measure 4. The project has two staves, one with vibrato and one without so it’s hopefully easy to compare. I also attached my expression map.

If it makes a difference, this project was imported from a Sibelius XML file, and I removed other instruments and music except for the section that was causing me the issue.

If I add a new entry to the expression map for “Vibrato, Note Length >= Long”, then this entry gets triggered instead. However, my understanding is if the conditions for the “Vibrato, Note Length >= Short AND Note Length < Long” entry in the expression map aren’t met, then it should fall back to my “Natural, Note Length >= Long” entry since it’s a very long note. Or if the Vibrato playing technique prevents any Natural entries in the expression map from being triggered, then the expression map should not map to anything since there aren’t any matching entries in the expression map.

Sorry to bump this thread, but could someone confirm whether it’s possible for an expression map entry to be used if the articulation/playing technique matches but the note length conditions do not, perhaps if there isn’t any other perfectly matching expression map entry? If the answer is yes, then I’d like to know so that I can make my expression maps more carefully moving forward. I can’t find any other reason why my issue would be happening.
