I imported an XML piano file and all the fingering is staff text now. Is there a way to change them back to fingering all at once or do I need to re-enter every finger number?
Depending where you created the XML, the original fingerings may have been labeled as text by that program. I think Finale uses a fingering tag but Sibelius (at least at one time) did not.
I know of no way to convert plain text to fingerings, but perhaps someone with more intimate knowledge will.
Ah yes, it was a Sibelius file from Version 8.6. Thanks for the response.
You may want to research MusicXML tags and change the tags for proper fingering support then re-import. XML files are plaintext and easily edited.
