Xml import problems Dorico 5.1.7

I get strange results (Write mode view) importing an xml file (attached).
xml was produced by SmartScore64 SE Piano Edition.
after topaz Ave María (Arr.xml (126.0 KB)
after topaz Ave María (Arr.dorico (495.9 KB)
Strangely enough, galley view and playback work just fine.

Please advise!
Thank you!

It is a layout issue then.
Your Piano layout looks fine too, just the Full Score layout looks odd.
I noticed (in Layout Options) your Full Score layout having 0 mm Page Margins. I didn’t look any further, just in Setup Mode deleted the Full Score layout and created a new one. As the new one automatically has the default values, you have a good starting point.

after topaz Ave María (Arr) - new Full Score layout.dorico (829.6 KB)

The MusicXML file specifies enormous negative margins, which Dorico dutifully tries to preserve. I don’t think I’ve ever come across that particular problem before! I’ll take a look at making sure that Dorico never allows negative margins when importing MusicXML.

You can click Reset to Factory in the Layout Options dialog to reset things back to more sensible settings, or as @k_b suggests, create a new default full score layout.
