Is it possible to add a secondary boot drive with W8 and Cubase and boot up from that drive instead of the Windows XP drive? Does the MB have to support this or no? Basically I have a friend who has a perfectly running Windows XP setup with C5 and he wants to get 7.5 and W8 going. Could he just add the drive with the OS and Cubase on it and be good to go or no?
Good to go? Not necessarily, your friend needs to make sure his hardware is compatible with Windows 8. Check the Microsoft website for compatibility information.
XP and Win8 can be dual booted. Check some of the ‘tech’ sites (or Google) because there are a couple of different ways this could be accomplished.
