Yamaha Driver causing crashes

I have a UR28M and I’m running a M1Pro MacBook Pro on Monterey.
Will there be a driver update in the near future? I’m running version 3.0.5.
The release notes say more devices will be supported on the 3.1.1 driver but does that include the UR28M or has it been discontinued now?

When it crashes the Mac freezes briefly before purple/pink screening and rebooting itself.
It’s really kind of annoying.

Same here with UR44C and the same driver… any solution?

Wait and see I guess. I was expecting something when Cubase 12 got released but nope. If anything does come out we’ll be on to a new version of Mac OS with a new crash feature soon anyway lol

Have the exact same issue. I know for sure it’s either the Yamaha driver just by looking at the satck trace:

I couldn’t get any pattern on WHEN the computer reboots, it seems to be totally random. I need to find the solution because it’s impossible to work with a so unreliable computer.

Thanks

There was a new Yamaha driver released September 13th 2022.
I installed it two days ago so it’s too early to say if it’s fixed the issue or not but so far so good…

Version 3.1.3

Ah ha!.. that’s good.

To be honest, I expect nothing, because this problem (at least for my UR28M) was around for a very long time, I would say literally 1 or 2 years ago, and it was present both for intel chips and m1 chips.

It worth a try, and I hope Steinberg fixed this, because otherwise I would reinstall my computer and retire my UR28M after SEVERAL years of fantastic service.

Just installed it. I will snooze this for 10 days and see if I get a restart again. Thanks HarrySound, I hope this works.

ME TOO!
The UR28M is such a great interface, it needs a refresh and constant support.

So far so good. 10 days have passed and I didn’t get any crash.

I will snooze this for another 10 days, if after a month the driver works fine I will consider this a success.

Cheers

Good here also. I’ve got a long week so we shall see.

Great news!
No reboots or crashes after the last 10 days. I will wait another 20 days, and if it works, then I would say it’s solved!!!

Yes all good here. no problem whatsoever and ive been using cubase every day.
