Yamaha MG10XU:USB connection disconnects then reconnects on moving the USB cable on the back

Hi,
While recording audio with Cubase AI, if the USB cable on the back gets slightly moved near the socket, the USB connection disconnects and then reconnects every time the cable gets disturbed with the error pop-up ‘Audio Hardware Removed’: The audio hardware using the ‘Yamaha Steinberg ASIO USB’ audio driver was removed from the computer.

I have tried this with a couple of cables, the same issue is happening in both.
Can it be USB 2.0 socket issue on the back of the mixer? OR is it supposed to happen? (Do I just need to be careful not to move the mixer so that the USB cable is not disturbed?)

Welcome to the Forum

The problem is obviously related to the USB hardware. If even a slight movement of the cable causes dropouts, there is a defect in the USB port or the cable. If you changed the cable already the problem seems to be the USB Port itself.
