Your Computer's ID

I have Cubase 12 activated on two computers. I forgot to save the first computers ID.
Now I just have two very long ID numbers and I don’t know which one is for which computer in case I ever need to deactivate one of them.
Is there a way to tell which is which?

You could just deactivate one and see which of your computers stopped running Cubase. Then you copy down the ID of the still active system and then reactivate your second system.

I could do that, but I’m not sure I trust the system enough yet.

I wonder if anyone has done that yet.

I don’t think you should trust cubase 12 enough not to be able to fiddle with it.

I’ve activated and deactivated Cubase and Dorico a couple of times and it worked without problems.
You can also look up the hardware ID in the log file License Engine.txt. On Windows it’s located in
%appdata%\Steinberg\Activation Manager\Logs.

OK - thanks. I see it there.
The earliest one activated, my laptop, is on the bottom of the list, and the second one activated - my desktop, is above that.

We plan to make these Computer IDs more human-readable very soon.
