z87-c motherboard mr816x audio problems help please

hi i just purchased a new pc for recording.
it is an i7 4770k upgraded mother board to z87-c
8 gig kingston ram
fitted the belkin pci firewirecard iv used for a couple of years hooked up the mr816x and it is totally unusable
tried everything buffer sizes different drivers even did a fresh install windows 7 pro 64 bit
i havnt even installed cubase yet as the the audio is so unstable any help would be much apreciated
i even took it out and put it back in the old computer runs fine just maxing out the cpu which is why i updated
signed… at my wits end

I would try another another pci firewirecard and see if that solves your problems.
A lycom PE-101 was successfull for me with a fireface 800.
It’s pcie though…

What chipset is your firewire? try this one http://www.bhphotovideo.com/bnh/controller/home?O=&sku=666107&is=REG&A=details&Q= It has TI chip. Also try the ysfwutility buffer size and if that doesn’t help switch to S200 setting.

If it’s a PCI card on that MOBo then it certainly isn’t native PCI and that’s your problem.


Just get a t.i. PCIe card and you’ll be good to go.
