Zoom restoration

I have noticed that the zoom factor is not correctly restored when you switch from galley view to page view and back.

The zoom level is set to the default level specified in Preferences.

Yes, but, most of the time, I use different zoom levels for page/galley view and I would like to get back exactly the same one when I switch from one to the other.

Yes, other users have mentioned this too. The current behaviour is as designed.

This is odd. Now that I check this with different files, I find that for me – for some files – Dorico 4.3.11 does remember the zoom level of each view when I switch back & forth. I haven’t found a pattern yet. At first it looked like it works only with files saved in an earlier version, but now I’ve disproved that idea. Why only sometimes?

I agree with the OP that it would be much nicer if the zoom would be remembered for each view of each layout. With all the tons of other data stored in the files, I don’t see the harm in it.

I agree - it sure would be nice!

It depends whether or not you have the tab bar shown.

Oh, excellent info! Thank you. Now I expect I understand the situation, and can act accordingly.
