hello Guys,

Yeah, it’s super annoying. A couple of things I’ve noticed …
If you click anywhere in the Page Template editor, then the Zoom percentage changes and will be correct when you close out of it. Gif below:
If I slow that gif way down, you’ll notice that Dorico initially has the zoom correct in the Page Template editor, then jumps to the incorrect percentage. It would be nice if it could not do that.
When you open the page template editor, Dorico is supposed to automatically choose the “fit two pages” zoom level, but it no longer does so reliably. This is something we will fix in a future update.
Honestly, I wish it wouldn’t. I would prefer it to keep (or match) the current view. 90% of the time I’m looking at the top of the page and I want to edit a frame there. Dorico zooms out to show the whole template (when it works*), and zooming back in always focuses on the empty middle of the 2 pages! – regardless of what is selected.
In other words, zooming in the page template editor doesn’t keep the selection in view like in other modes.
The OP’s expectation, to remember the previous editing view, would also be more useful and less surprising than zooming out to 2 pages every time.
(* Currently when it fails to show 2 pages, it does as soon as I select a frame.)
I agree with @Mark_Johnson - I wish it wouldn’t. 90% of the time you edit a page template you want to edit the top of the template on L or R. It is impractical to do so without zooming in.
Thanks Daniel!
