I am starting a a late age but decided to try. I want to be able to create my own music and maybe be able to pass what I learn to my grandkids. I went from guitar to a looper then to a violin to try and make backing tracks to play along with. The itch was not satisfied and I tried a DAW. I tried Cakewalk but did not meld with it. So, I went with Ableton that is great but lacking for orchestral styles and large libraries. I am now on Cubase pro and its steep learning curve. Lets see where this heads in a hope that I might make my master piece. I find that making music is the most frustrating and enjoyable thing I have tried in my life. I spend most of my free time trying different things in music but also trying to balance it so as not burn myself out. I hope to invest more time in the basics this winter to help further my endeavors.
