Because of Don Kirshner and his Friday night rock concert TV show. Bassist, I always wish to be. Got my 1st Bass as a fourteen-year-old, and I was golden. Practice nonstop, lost friends gained musicians. But before the bass, I started on trombone at twelve yrs old. I couldn’t travel up the hills of Conneticut to school with heavy trombone so next season. I gave up the the bone and got a bass. Mom was moving to California i wanted no part of it. That is until she took me to Delancy Street in New York and bought me a peavy bass amp. I would travel anywhere that woman wanted to go, because yup, I was Golden. I attended Dorsey High LA. Join the Marching band playing electric bass Thanks to Professor Sanders a new music teacher who built a rolling bass amp, we chased all the high school marching band away. We loved Col Sanders his black neighborhood name. Also, Join the Jazz band. The fabulous Col Sanders would let me Lunch in the Music room so I could practice upright bass he would lock me in so no one could get in, I could leave whenever I wanted. On to College and Music and the Band Taxie and one hit in 1980 “Rock Don’t Stop” and numerous reggae/funk/rock and jazz bands. Got Cubase in 2 with the license in a trade for an MPC drum machine. Never looked back. Today I’m self-contain, my Pseudonym is “Funkangeles”. Thanks for reading.
