Retired from a career in IT but have been a musician my whole life. I studied music composition at FSU in the late 1970’s and play bass guitar in several different situations. I have been using Finale since 2006 and done some big band arrangements (of original songs) and some string writing, and other miscellaneous compositions, and a lot of song lead sheets and tutorarial materials. I see great possibilities in Dorico and am currently working on a big band chart that I had started in Finale, but now restarted in Dorico (after doing an xml import). I was pleased with the xml import, but found it was better to start a new project and just copy/paste what I wanted from the import. After years of coming to peace with Finale’s quirks, gotta learn how to deal with Dorico’s quirks. In general I do enjoy the Dorico fundamentals, but it seems to have some development needed.
