So I’d say I’m kinda a techy-musician (a coder by trade), and maybe more a techy that loves music, and trying to create it. I’m also an amateur drummer and have played electronic kits and with other musicians and bands over the years. My first set was a Roland TD7 basic kit that I engineered my own pads (cymbals and hi-hat) and both pedals for (could only afford the base kit). My pads even had choke capability.

Anyway, I’m looking to get back into music creation for fun and a hobby in retirement years. I used to do some midi work and sound tracks years ago (hobby level for friends and family) and thought I’d pick it up again.

I own a few midi keyboards, gear (mostly non-professional), drums and my latest addition, a Novation Launchkey Mini MK3. A very cool little workstation. I use various platforms computer wise. Mostly Chrome OS, Android and Linux. Also have a iPad Air, Mac Air and Windows tablet, but love the simplicity of Chromebooks.

I’ve done a lot of searching for what DAW to use and have landed on Cubasis, as it’s amazing for what it does, and on a portable device! I also quite like the workflow, UI along with it’s capabilities.
