I’m Rob, an experienced choral singer and former web developer. I am the music librarian for one of the choirs I sing with, and so regularly create transcriptions and arrangements of choral music for that group and for others, as well as writing my own music (primarily choral, but also instrumental).

I used Finale from about 1995 until recently, but adopted Dorico during the pandemic and it’s now my primary tool for engraving and composing. My feature wishlist would be:

1. Better lyric handling, especially collapsing hyphens (which just doesn’t work at all as of March 2024)
2. More standard publishing controls in Engrave mode. Cut, copy, and paste should be possible on all selectable items, including frames
3. More ways to organise flows within a project (eg. tree hierarchy) and depth level options for each depth rank

I’m delighted with Dorico, though, and love how closely the team interacts with users. Feature videos and livestreams are amazingly helpful!
