I am going through a tutorial in computer music mag, and they say to place snare on last 16th note of 1st beat.
how do I do that?
as in where exactly is last 16th note of 1st beat?
I know about 16th notes in a bar,but not in one beat!
Well, presuming a “beat” is one quarter-note, there are four 16th-notes to a beat (and, surprise surprise, sixteen 16th-notes to a bar in 4/4 time 
). So I guess they are meaning to place the Snare on the fourth 16th-note of the bar .
