Previously the record button used to record whatever we played to the “recordings” folder under the project folder, but now i don’t see it happening.
Recordings are now stored in the “Assets” folder, as was requested, and because is more consistent with other assets.
This is either the project folder (as you want), or the “Local Assets Folder”.
Open “Edit/Preferences/Studio”, where you can select the local assets folder. As you want to store with the project, enable “Store Assets in Project Folder”.
I just tested with a new vst live project and i see asset folder is not getting created in the project folder.
Oh now i see its going to the recordings folder in the path mentioned under preferences → studio
I see this option is checked, so its supposed to store the assets under the current project folder instead of the path mentioned above right?
Mine was already checked, but its not storing in my local project folder, instead recording in the path mentioned on the preferences.
Did you ever save the project? If you start “New Project” and never save, there is no project path in the first place.
Yes I saved the project and tried recording
Then there must be a folder “recordings” in the folder where you saved that project?
On new project it didn’t create that folder. On an old project it already existed from past recordings. In old or new projects it’s not creating the file under the project folder now. May be something messed up in latest version to always save the recordings into that path mentioned in preference ignoring the check below it?
-
new project
-
save project (!) in default folder (also assets folder)
-
record
-
Preferences is set to “Store assets in project folder”, and it records right there.
-
Create new folder “test” on desktop, save project there, record: it created a folder “destktop/test/recordings” and the recording went right there.
-
Set preference to local assets, record again, recording stored in “old” default and assets folder (“documents/VST Live/projects” in my case).
What do you do?
Note the “recordings” folder is only created with the first recording you make there (because of whatever reason).
This is how i got it working to save the recording under the “recordings” folder under the project.
Just unselect the “Store Assets In Project Folder” then select it, then save project. Then do the recording…
So looks to me that the flag for “Store Assets In Project Folder” was not may be getting updated into the VST live database, unless I unselect it and then select it.
Thanks for the hint. We did find one place where it may not have been treated correctly. When we tested, it worked right away, but for testing both scenarios, we did toggle that value anyway.
So please try again with the next version, and let us know if it works out for you.
