[2.1.24] MIDI Clock doesn't work properly

With Nord Lead A1 as MIDI Clock set, the MIDI clock is not working properly.

Here are some examples:

This is not an issue in Cubase or any other DAW. Why is that happening in VST Live (2.1.24 arm64)?

Thank you, Michael! :+1:

@Matze_Keys, can you please tell us which Audio Buffer Size you are running?

Thank you,
Michael.

@Spork sample rate 48 k, buffer size 128

Thanks. Please try again with the next version.

Hello! Any news on this topic? I have the same issue and after updating to the latest version (2.1.26), midi clock stopped working altogether. I also have issues with the midi editor, some commands work, some don’t, sometimes I cannot change the triggertime, it looks rather buggy to me unfortunately. Are there any plans to improve this in the near future?
Thanks, Philipp

Welcome.

Could you be a bit more specific: what exactly do you do that doesn’t work?

Same here, what trigger time are you referring to, and what else doesn’t work for you? We need more information, check the forum, vast majority of other reports indicate stability and we are eager to keep it that way.

Hi! Thanks for the fast reply!
I want to synchronize my guitar effects (AxeFX 3 connected over Midi-over-USB) unit to the midi clock and it worked like described above (the tempo always changed a little, for example I set the tempo to 155 in VSTL and I get 154/155/156/155 on my effects unit). After the update to 2.1.26 the tempo does not sync anymore. Setting should be correct:

Other Midi events are working.

In the midi-editor the position (sorry, not triggertime) cannot be changed sometimes, for example I want to set the position to 1.2.1 it does not change the value.

This only seems to affect values below 6.1.1. When I enter a value higher than that, it works. I can only set values below that in the track view (?).

Thanks

Probably the MIDI clip (event in the timeline) starts at 6.1.1. You can only edit inside the clip.

Will check again…do you have any other receivers to test MIDI Clock?

I have tested it with Nord Lead A1 and 2.1.27.

Clock is not stable, see this video showing a project with 160 bpm as an example.

With Cubase it is stable at 160

May try again with 2.1.28.
But we only changed a tiny detail and made some measurements, all receivers we have were indicating no errors.
Tempo display may vary by one (+/- 1), the important bit is that it is in sync.
