Tempo map will be destroyed while selecting songs !
Tempo map of selected song overwites tempo map of next selectd song.
Watch video clip…
To be honest, reported similar issue years ago once, but I couldn’t find the recipe to reproduce, secondly no one else complained, so I havent bumped the thread to the top, instead
Started to create TPO/SGN tracks and finally LOCK both after setting them. That was my only solution, even these days.
But again, can’t give a recipe. It just happens anytime otherwise (w.o. locked map tracks)
… and I thought we have finally fixed it. And I remember you both helped us a lot here. We did not receive new reports about that topic?
It was fine in 2.1.31, @RonBlack?
I’ve tried to get it reproduced, but no chance. It’s always reproducible? Is there a chance to get access to the full project?
/Michael.
If you watch the Tempo track data list you will recognize, that it keeps the value of the first selected track.
It never showes the tempo value of the next selected track.
It seems, that the value from the first selected track will remain and be copied to the next selected track.
If you save the project and load it again, you will have the wrong Tempo values set to the songs.
That means that the original Tempo values are finally destroyed, which is not good for the live performance because the Drummer gets the wrong Tempo on his click channel
I will try this with earlier versions of VL 2.1.xx
Of source you can have the full project.
That would be very helpful. Please send me a PM and tell where I can download your project.
Thank you,
Michael.
Hi Michael, the download link has been sent
I recognized, that not only the Tempo map is affected,
even the Fader positions.
… very, very strange. I’ll check. Thank you for your project! I’ll keep you in the loop.
/Michael.
By the way, same strange effects in VL 2.1.33
Hi @RonBlack,
Thank you very much. We’ve analysed your project. Your Signature and Tempo tracks are “broken” and VST Live is trying to repair them with a Default Tempo of 120 and a default Signature of 4/4. Have a look to your “Hard to Handle”. That one has no Signature/Tempo track and so the Main-Tempo of 103.75 will not be overwritten.
Please load your project, select your “broken” songs (Don’t Bring Me Down, Heroes, Shard Dressed Man and Tush) remove the Signature and Tempo tracks and add a “fresh” Signature and Tempo Tracks. You’ll see the main tempo of the Song will be back. Now save the project and reload it. All is fine now, yes?
You’ve told me:
This “default song” has the broken tracks. You should update it, too.
Better? Have a nice day,
Michael.
Ohh, that explains my issue since… so if tpo/sgn gets broken VL “repairs” it with default values…. And therefore one case with 7/4 song become 4/4.
WHILE since I’m creating TPO/SGN tracks AND locking them, never happens
I’ve deleted the Tempo- and Signature-tracks and created them new.
It’s working fine now.
Thank you Michael for debugging.
But what was the reason for currupted data in these tracks?
VSTLive should display a warning when corrupted data is detected!!!
Cheers, Ron
Good morning,
I have a similar problem but the solution as described above doesn’t seem to work.
I have a track starting with signature 3/8 and changing at bar 147 to 4/4 and also beginning with tempo 72 and changing at 147 to 96bpm. When the track ends and switchs to the next song it overwrits the following song with 3/8 but the tempo starts with the correct tempo of the following song.
I tried to delete and rebuild the signature track but the problem still occures. It is also indepentend of the song position in the setlist. The following song is also changed to 3/8 signature.
So what can I do and what could be the reason for this problem?
Greetings
Dirk
… which version of VST Live are you running? Are you working with the latest one? See more here. If the problem still exists, is it possible to get access to your project?
See you,
Michael.
I run version 2.1.21.236.
Of course I can get you access to my project.
Do you need the whole project including all the wave files and how can I send it to you?
