[2.2.30] FIX request for rare use case - Automation issues on audio tracks linked to stacks

Hi @musicullum @Spork ,

i know this is a very rare use case but i’m using a particolar routing in wich automation tracks lose connection to track inserts on/of or plugins.

I use global stack(s), but for every song in the project i have audio tracks (rec an mon on) connected to the global stack. This way i can record in multitrack every song of the project.

Now, i recently discovered that putting an insert effect on a track linked to a global stack enable me to add song specific effects pre-stack, in addition to the effects in the stack itself (globals) and to the stack channel in mixer (also global). Everything works as expected and is a good and simple way to manage song specific effect.

The problem arise when i try to automate theese tracks connected to the global stacks. Both if I automate track inserts on/of, or track|plugin| parameters, when I create the automation it works flewlessly, then I save, exit, reopen the project, switch a couple songs that have other traks linked to the same global stack, then go to the song with the automation, and the automation channel is connected to the wrong (previous song) effect in inspector, and the automation don’t work unless I rebuild the connection in inspector then it start working again.

I know it’s a very niche use case, but if you can have a look at it would be wonderful and a very useful shotcut to have “hybrid song specific and global effects on the stack routing”.

Thanks, cheers, Ciro.
