2-line Staff labels (using Player names, not instrument names) are “bottom aligned” but would look better center-aligned to the staff. Is this possible?

No, there’s no option for this at present. I’ve made a note about it and we’ll look into it when we get a chance.
Much appreciated. A very minor issue indeed. I bought Dorico just under a month ago after many, many years w/Finale. Enjoying the challenge of learning new tricks and discovering different (better) ways to do things. Your daily involvement in this Forum is beyond helpful. Thanks.
