I have attached an excerpt of a piece I have to replicate. I am running into difficulty creating a 2-note quarter note tremolo in a local time signature passage. I can get all the way to the last step, which is applying the actual tremolo to the notes in bar 5, but Dorico changes the notes to dotted quarters instead. Is there a way around this?

Do you really want a 2-note quarter tremolo or a 2-note half tremolo (which would be the common notation)? Both are possible anyway:
In both cases it requires nested tuplets.
For 2 half-notes:
4:3e, and inside it 1:1q (enter two quarters and apply the trem)
For 2 quarter notes:
4:3e, and inside it 1:2e (enter two eighths and apply the trem).
The composer wrote half notes actually. Likely the pattern of 3/8 2/4,1.5 (3/8) 4:3 was as far as my brain could go! Thanks for the help
