Something strange is happening when I’m doing a 4-bar repeat in Finale Jazz font. A 2-bar repeat is displayed normally and in another font the 4-bar also is displayed normally. But when I do a 4 bar repeat there a two 4’s directly above each other. Is this a fixable thing? I really like the Finale jazz font.
Yes only Finale Jazz font. When I Change to another font it’s displaying no number at all or only 1 four. Testproject Finale Jazz font.dorico (622,5 KB)
Try to export as .doricolib file from the fixed score. Engrave/Library/ Export Library… then you can import that library file and apply it to your existing scores through Engrave/Library/Library Manager…
I used FontCreator to edit the font. Nor probably changed some engraving options in order to stop Dorico from rendering the second “4” - that approach may be the preferable one since you don’t need to mess with third-party files that might get replaced in an update…
Do i have to import that library file every time I start a new project? In that case I would think it would be better to adjust the font like Pietzcker did. Then every time I use Finale Jazz it’s instantly correct.
You can pick the GlyphMini2 app for only 49€ if you’re on macOS, You can then open the Finale Jazz font then remove (cut) the 4 above the repeat symbol and re-save the font back as .otf. If the problem will still persist you’ll need maybe to update the corresponding BB infos in the JSON file.
Hi Nordine,
I nearly made a post myself about “Finale Broadway” and “Finale Jazz” fonts having the 4-repeat-bar problem but fortunately discovered this thread.
Having just upgraded to Version 5.1.40 might you know why this still hasn’t been fixed some nine months later?
Is editing the fonts something we’re expected to do ourselves as users – as you have done using GlyphMini2?
