Thank you for your kind advice, I will check it out!
What I tried now is
- make a copy of the project concerned
- start that copy without activating playback
- delete every track with notes shorter than 1/16th
- unhook “Play generated trills at constant speed during tempo changes” and save the setting.
Then I restarted this copy with the playback activated and it played back flawlessly, with the “Play generated trills…” setting disabled.
Then I copied the previously deleted tracks back in from the original … and Dorico crashed on pushing the Play button, although the “Play generated trills…” setting was disabled still.
So, no notes shorter than 1/16th for the moment, it seems.
Not a pressing problem for me, personally, since I’m aware now it’s a known issue.
I’ll gladly wait until it is solved and work on my other projects meanwhile.
Looking forward to try out the new features, such as entering values into the mixer directly. This will be a tremendous help! Thank you once again for this great, ever-evolving notation software!
We’re working on a hot fix for this problem and hope to have it available either today or tomorrow. Please accept our apologies for the inconvenience in the meantime.
Dorico 5.1.21 is now available via Steinberg Download Assistant and fixes this problem. Sorry again for the inconvenience caused.
Incredible customer service by the Dorico team once again!
Thanks so much for the very speedy fix! It’s much appreciated.
