I randomly get these 2 errors when I’m not using my usual sound card (Focusrite Scarlett). Sometimes I have like 15 minutes to do some music while I’m outside, so I open Dorico and takes a long time, returing sometimes the first error (screensots), sometimes the second, sometimes just opening Dorico without any problems. This is very frustrating.
Upload the Diagnostic Report here.
Hi, I have the same problem, Dorico 4 runs fine but I cant use version 5.1
Dorico Diagnostics.zip (191.5 KB)
Hi @pabluez , as Benwiggy already said, please do from Dorico’s menu Help > Create Diagnostics Report and post the corresponding zip file here. Thanks
Hi @B3R , thanks for the data. The audio engine logs suggest that there is a problem while scanning your plug-ins. When Dorico is stuck, please open the TaskManager and have a look for background processes with the name vstscanner. Are there one or more of them?
Hi, I uninstalled a plugin that did not start but the problem persists, I opened the task manager while Dorico it is loading and this appears
Dorico Diagnostics.zip (233.3 KB)
Hi @B3R ,
please do the following then:
- Download the free utility Process Explorer from this link
Process Explorer is kind of a TaskManager on stereoids. - Run ProcessExplorer while Dorico is loading and watch out for those scanner processes. You should see them coming and going, but one of them stuck.
- Highlight that one scanner process, do a right click on it and choose from the pop-up menu Create dump > Create mini dump, follow the on-screen instructions and save the dump.
- Zip up the dump file and post here.
That should help me identify the problem. Thanks
Hi, the file is bigger than 4mb
Also now appear this window
After Dorico opened and it works well.
Thanks for your help
Then please send me the diagnostics directly to u dot stoermer at steinberg dot de. Thanks
Hi,
i have issues starting Dorico and other Steinberg products - they all crash - also because Audio Engine is not starting.
After removing plugins in the folder C:\Program Files\Common Files\VST3 i can start the programs now.
But i want to use all plugins if it works.
How can i find out which plugins make the problems?
If i cannot start Dorico with all plugins i can not disable problematic plugins in Dorico vst settings.
Greetings Michael
- Remove half the installed plug-ins (to a safe location), and launch Dorico.
- If Dorico works, swap the plug-ins that work for the other half, and launch Dorico again.
- Repeat step 1.
Eventually, you will find which plug-in is causing the problem.
Hi benwiggy,
that´s what i have done now.
i hope i find it out and there is a solution for another DAW if i would use this plugin there.
Greetings Michael
