6/4 rests

Dorico is using a half rest rather than two quarter rests in 6/4. How can I change the default? Thanks.

Can you provide a screenshot of what you’re getting and/or what you’d like? There are 6 beats in a 6/4 bar, so it’s not clear which two beats you’re referring to.

All the half rests in the vocal part should be pairs of quarter rests.

Since 6/4 is a compound duple meter with two dotted-half beats, these settings in notation options should get you the result you want:

Most of the settings which control notation conventions like this are in Notation Options. The one you want is under Notation Options > Rests.

Though the “rule of 2+1” is that you can show the first 2 sub-beats as one thing.

Gould, p. 163: “(In compound time,) rests at the beginning of a beat may be combined”.
