This might be one of my top workflow needs.
We have presets for tools, but no quick way to load them on the fly via Key Command.
- Tool Presets can be loaded into Quick Presets and vice versa
- Quick Presets would have their own top level preset system, which would allow users to save a batch of quick presets per project/instrument/problem.
- Copy/Paste from one QP to another
- Ability to save a QP default for each tool
- Key Command to select QPs.
- Once user changes QP settings from default/changes settings, it’s saved to memory/project, ie, If a user changes QP settings while working ARA2 event, bounces that event, ARA’2s another event - the QP last used/tweaked settings are still there. And perhaps even if the project is closed/re-opened - so that if someone doesn’t save a QP preset, the settings return.
This would speed up my workflow so much, I am always tweaking tool settings per source material. It’s inefficient saving them in the current tool preset system which can get very cluttered fast and it’s disorganized/not alphabetized.
For example, currently I am editing a magnitude of different problems in an acoustic guitar as well as a standup bass very particular to this project. And each type of problem requires different eraser settings that I need to go back and forth for each type of problem. If I had QPs and hotkeys… I would be FLYING.
There should also be a search-filter for preset menus.
QP’s and HOTKEYS - PLEASE
edit
Would also like to be able to have Display Settings QPs with hotkeys… There’s too much redoing settings between Tools and Display Settings and having consistency and recallability is important through the process of fixing sources problems/throughout entirety of project.
Edit2
Also if there were macro keycommands, people could create combination key commands that trigger both a View and Tool preset simultaneously.

I have been asking for 3 user preset hot keys/ buttons per tool for two years now
if you want to get @Robin_Lobel attn, tag him
This is a very, very good idea…it could create plenty of sluggish performance by increasing FFT size, yet, I agree with you here, I’d like to set FFT sizes without wasting time with the hit and miss slider which can be a terrible time drain; again, I’m cool with 3 preset settings, I don’t need 10.

I want 8,
I use a variety of ratio shapes, opacities, reduction amounts, etc, etc.
For example with the Eraser tool, usually I require:
- A variety of reduction Amounts: 3, 9, 12, 24
- A variety of Limit Amounts: -87, -95, -100, -110
- A variety of ratio shapes, Circle, Horizontal Oval, Vertical Oval
- A Variety of sizes depending on zoom, but I also use mousewheel zoom to change amount of area affected
I could definitely use 8 if not 10 for all 1-9+0 numbers on the keyboard. I would probably put some thought and time in deciding how to setup my defaults for the best average vs typical application scenarios. Honestly even if there were 20, I’d probably come up with some logical way of organizing all 20 so I remember what they are.
In the case of 8, I’d probably organize something like this.
1-4: Circle, varying reduction amounts, size average across all, maybe varying Hardness depending on reduction amount. Limit off.
5-6: Horizontal Oval, varying reduction amounts but different from 1-4, etc. Limit on but fairly wide open.
7-8: Vertical Oval, varying reduction amounts but different from 1-4, etc Limit on but fairly wide open.
Typically use oval shape for broad noise erasing, whereas I use circle for louder noise/tone/transient removal.
Or for example with the Rectangle Selection tool, 1-4 would be variable of frequency fade but hard time, 5-8 would be variable of time fade but hard frequency.
