A big change from a small action

I am not really complaining because the problem is easy to solve, and in some measure easy to understand, but not quite. Here is the project:

Phrygiens2Z.dorico (1.7 MB)

This project is chock full of whimsical stuff, including clumsy staff spacing and note spacing, but not only am i satisfied with the look and the playback, but proof readin gdoes not complain at all! The problem occurs in the Light layout, the most disturbed by spacing changes. In measure 10 in the Dessus player, I noticed the last note had a cautionary natural accidental. It is not absolutely necessary and it uses some note space its neighbours could use, so I go to properties and set Accidental to hide. This immediately compacts the systems one over the other.
First I have now set set Local Properties to Locally, but originally the Round Brackets property had been set Globally, so I suppose that it is now global, so this has to hide the natural in all layouts. And the change has to impact the note spacing in this measure, but I would not have expected the extent of the impact that you can reproduce on my project. Of course it is easy to fix (with some more staff spacing changes) , and this layout is so whimsical that I cannot be really indignant  ! But it is surprising that after the system was so tolerant to all my whims, it should break down under a small straw like this, so I report it in case it would be of interest for the product.

Actually for me this already solved.

NO! If you set the Layout Options appropriately (for the Light Layout) no manual tweaks are needed.

Your (unnecessay) manual tweaks pushed Dorico beyond it’s limits to handle them. Once systems become ‘over full’ strange things will inevitably happen.

Here I removed your manual changes, changed the vertical justification settings to prevent it doing so, and slightly reduced the space size. Everything fits without any manual tweaks (though you might want to increase the inter-system spacing slightly).

Thanks Janus,
I used the Library Manager to compare (Of course I do not see the suppression of overrides). Only the Page Size and the Vertical Spacing.
I never thought of pushing the Justify Distance...When Frame is at least to 100%! Is it a something to be frequently used?

You know, I still had a vague feeling that Dorico was rather easily pushed beyond it’s limits to handle excessive tweakings (granted that no tweakings at all is more elegant anyway), but I had not been aware of something worse: the Music Frame for the Score reached almost to the end of the Text Frame! Once fixed, the Light Layout is much less unstable!
