A Different Kind of Work For Me

I am not a lyricist, but like setting text to music. This is a setting of text from David’s last words found in II Samuel 23: 1-5. Randall Thompson it’s not, but I think the character of the piece is an appropriate setting for the text. I used NP 5.0 with Berlin Free Orchestra Harp, SSO 2024 Solo Cello, and NP for the Tenor Solo. I placed them in VSL’s Synchron Stage Reverb. I did have to compress the file a bit for upload. Harpists are a mystical fairy folk; Dorico makes writing for them a much less daunting task :slightly_smiling_face:.

Well, I’m quick to admit when I might be wrong. Inspired by dko22, I decided to try Cantai again. I can’t afford SynthV, but, until Cantai releases their Dorico integration, I can afford 19.99 to access their rendering engine.
This is an export from my Dorico score into Musescore (again, just to access Cantai). I chose the ‘Rigoletto’ Baritone voice. This really isn’t too bad, and might actually be useable as a demo.

quite nice – but would be greatly improved if we could hear the text. I don’t mind using a SynthV tenor to produce the vocal track if you would like-- I’d need the score in that case so I could export the vocal line!
