My attached song is based on Marc Chagall’s painting (“Equestrienne”) that includes a horse using its chin to hold a violin against its neck, and Lawrence Ferlinghetti’s hilarious poem (“Don’t Let That Horse”) based on the painting. The notation was prepared in Dorico and the attached live performance came from a free concert for fellow music students and their family and friends recorded on a rented portable unit. I have not obtained permission to use the painting or poem and hope including it here is OK. I will remove it if a copyright holder has concerns.

Thanks, Rob. This is the only one of my songs that has been recorded so I appreciate having it in spite of obvious weaknesses in the recording and performance. I’m glad that you found it entertaining—Ferlinghetti’s poem still cracks me up several years after the recording was made!
