Since my MMCSS and windows RT change everything has been running a LOT better.
I have however had 2 crashes this week. Same thing happened each time.
On opening cubase/ new project I still get a freeze on the Hub however , it unfreezes quiute quickly and i can open the project, however after it has done this the project will Freeze after openning.
the 2 dumps show the same error:

I’ve no idea what’s causing this.
Any ideas?

Both dump files show the same stack trace, without access to source code it is hard to tell where this crash really happens.
However, as a really wild guess, I see that you are loading AMD libraries and, as far as I know, they are for the graphics adapter. Is it possible that you have one of these AMD RadeOn adapters and you have the AMD Adrenalin software installed?
If this is true, the Adrenalin package might be the reason for this.
@JuergenP thanks. I’m running the on board GFX on the 7950x but I do have adrenaline installed. I’ve just uninstalled it and lets see how it goes.
I don’t think it’s anything to do with this though becasue it’s happening on the Hub like before, and as we know when it’s on the hub Cubase is sending Sysex messages to all midi devices and if it doesn’t get the correct reply then it hangs. Changing to windows RT has stopped the complete freezes on the Hub but before these crashes I get a minor freeze while it sends out it’s messages and waits, this time it only freezes for 20-30 seconds before you can open a project.
probelm is once opened after it’s done this the project freezes with this crash.
So I’ve a gut feeling it’s something to do with the change in in MIDI since Cubase 12 introduced midi devices and the whole MMCSS.

@Martin.Jirsak
after sending the log to Steinberg unfortunatley it seems like a Midi device not playing well with RT midi…

So there’s basically something needs sorting out with Cubase /windows midi.
MIDI 2 is about to be released on windows so now would be a good time to have been working behind the scenes with Microsoft to have the midi code re written for windows Cubase as this has been in development for a few years now.
