a request: instrument name to player's label

Hello,

Could the following feature be implemented in a future version of Dorico?

  • instrument name to player’s label
    This feature is useful when changing the instrument in a player.

Currently, the names of the layouts of individual parts are affected by the player’s label.
Similar to this, it would be very convenient if the player’s label is automatically (or manually by selecting a command from the menu or a button) updated by the instrument name when thinking that there is only an instrument in most cases.

I don’t know what you mean by “player’s label”. If you’re talking about the name of the player, as shown in the card in the Players panel in Setup mode, it will automatically update as you add, delete or rename the instruments held by the player. If you find that this doesn’t happen, it’s because you’ve already edited it. Double-click the player’s name to edit it again, and click the “reset” circular arrow at the right-hand side of the card to reset the name back to its default state.

When importing a musicXML, the player’s name is not automatically updated.
Now I know the way to fix it. Thank you!
