A timely reminder to myself that there's no alrounder mic!

For most things I find my trusty SE2200A does a great job, a couple of singers I track really shine with it. I’ve never had a bad word to say about it, then a new guy comes along and - well - awful doesn’t cover it! There’s just a clash with the vocalist and the 2200SE, it sounded truly dreadful - scratchy and shrill (yet the singer was not trebly). I tried my ribbon (much better) and then the NT2A - spot on, warm and smooth in the mids with a silky top-end.

Reminder never to take anything for granted!
