When you use the Zoom In and Zoom Out commands with the keyboard, Cubase anchors the cursor (or selection if you have that option enabled) to the middle of the screen. That means you can zoom with respect to an anchored point, but that point will immediately jump to the middle of the screen.
In Ableton, its Zoom In/Out keyboard command works with respect to an anchored point as well, but that point remains right where it is (i.e. it does not jump to the middle of the screen while zooming)
I think having this option in Cubase will be an improvement - enabling zooming in/out around a stationary anchor point.
