About some notation question

Hi everyone again! Sorry to bother you with another question, but I’m still learning some graphic notation techniques, and I have a couple of questions about notations I’ve seen in contemporary music that I’d like to use in my own music.

I’ve noticed in some scores that the stems extend above the musical staff, like this.
I know this kind of notation is possible in TAB, but I’d like to know if there’s a way to achieve the same effect on a standard five-line staff. Does anyone know how to do this?

My second question is about this type of glissando with a duration indicated, as shown here.
I’ve tried deleting the noteheads, but I’m not sure how to draw that horizontal line with the time markings. Does anyone know how to create this kind of timed glissando?

Thank you all so much for your help!

Hi @aledei2250, and no worries: the Forum is here to help!

Maybe this post will give some useful information:

Here is how to extend globally the stem length (as in your example):

and here how to hide the noteheads and ledger lines:

To be able to adjust the stems length, you can create another voice with a tuplet of 16:6x (x=16th), and put 4 quarters in it. Then put all notes in the second half of the bar to have Voice column index=0. This will give you independent stems that you can then adjust to touch the line:

then see the video below for further steps:

And this post may be helpful, too (at least the part where I show again how to prolong the stems with a hidden tuplet):

I have another question, but it’s relatively important: is it possible to change the arrowhead? Because this squared-off style isn’t very aesthetically pleasing, but I can’t figure out how to change it.

This better?

Not sure I understand your wish, but
EDIT: ok, I must be blind, now I appreciate the version offered by @jesele, very nice!

You have three arrowheads at disposal by default (in small and large sizes). You can change them as you edit your lines in Edit lines (from menu Library > Lines…> Start and End caps), or directly in Engrave mode properties Panel, overriding them individually. (Or, as Jesper suggests, build your own line annotation as Music Symbol and save as default):

Oh, that’s nice!
