Hi again, Professionals!
Is it possible to make the ‘Tuplet’ -function work in such a way (like ‘Toggle’) that pressing the same button turns ‘Tuplet’ to 'ON (and automatically ‘3 : 2)’ and pressing it again turns it ‘OFF’?

Hi,
I don’t think you can program a toggle shortcut, since Create Tuplet and End Tuplet Input are two different commands.
But if the factory shortcuts are not convenient enough in your keyboard langage (which is the case with a French Keyboard, for me), you can reassign them to any keys you prefer — I for one chose + and - of the Numpad, and I’m extremely happy with these ones!
I’ve gotten used to simply quickly pressing right arrow then left arrow, in other words, cursor movement that automatically takes you out of triplet input.
OK - I think to use these with this my ’Musical Keypad’, so I have to re-think that ’Tuplets’.
In MuseScore that ’Tuplet Toggle’ works…
I think it can’t work in Dorico because typing Create Tuplet a second time (or even more) allows to make nested tuplets — which is very convenient!
And Dorico has another problem also… I can’t re-assign any function for F14 and F15 -buttons (on Mac) - all other F-keys can be set successfully.
Ah, this I don’t know… On my (Windows) keyboard I only have F1-F12 which work well for KeyCommands (incl. with modifiers, which allows a lot of combinations!)
That in my ’Musical Keypad’ ’key hat/cap’ is
set to F14 = ’Write /Voice 1’ and F15 = ’Engrave / Voice 2’… I can’t assign for F14 & F15 at all - and it doesn’t work also in MuseScore.
In System Settings I can assign these for Dorico, but still it doesn’t work however.
PS. I’m sorry my poor English
I’ve never seen any keyboard with function keys beyond F12, but I got curious and did some searching. Apparently, there are (very rare) keyboards with double rows of function keys. The reason you’re having trouble with F14 and F15 might be that those key codes used by Mac OS to control brightness. (According to this reddit thread: How to program F13,F14,F15 Keys) So if that info is correct, it might actually be impossible for a Mac program to respond to those key presses. Are you able to remap the keys on your special keyboard?
That would preclude even some kind of advanced call to a macro that had an if…then – if tuplet is on, turn off. You wouldn’t be able to nest them (unless you had another keypress for that)! ![]()

I like the idea of the programmable keypad — I’ve seen a number of similar things available but never opted to get one (I’m too cheap)! I do use an iPad with both Stream Deck Mobile and Touch Portal, though. I’m not sure about coding this for SD, but I think I can create a setup in TP to turn tuplets on, while opening up a secondary level screen to either turn off, or nest tuplets from there…. I’ll have to think about that since it would still have to allow for the kinds of things (duration, pitch, ties & slurs, etc) that one might do while tuplets are turned on.

F13 ’Note Input (ON/OFF Toggle)’ works very well, as the F16 & F17
