For editorial parentheses not yet implemented, I introduced a (personal) standard reducing the size (usually cue, better than grace). Obviously I’m not the only one, especially for ornaments, but I find this practice quite clear, simple and not confusing…

I’ve created a music font that has bracketed symbols as single glyphs, which should make creating playing techniques much easier.
